From Algorithms to Aisles: How FitCheck Is Digitizing the Way Pakistan Tries On Fashion
In 2018, after completing his postgraduate studies in the UK, Saad returned to Pakistan with a strong interest in emerging technologies, and a desire to put his skills to use back home. He wasn’t entirely sure what the path would look like, but he knew he wanted to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s growing tech space.
He began with what he knew best, building smart tech solutions. His first venture offered services in AI, blockchain, and deep learning, attracting clients from across the globe. But this wasn’t a solo journey. Early on, Saad brought on Farhan, a young intern who was curious, hardworking, and quietly ambitious. Over time, Farhan’s drive and technical instincts earned him a leading role in the company’s tech operations.
As the venture matured, so did their observations. One issue kept surfacing in conversations and client feedback: fashion retail, particularly online, was broken when it came to sizing. Shoppers often guessed their way through purchases, unsure if what they ordered would actually fit. Retailers struggled with returns and customer dissatisfaction. In a country where textiles are a major industry, this seemed like a fixable, yet largely ignored, problem.
That insight sparked the beginning of FitCheck, a virtual try-on platform designed to simplify online fashion shopping. Saad and Farhan knew the technology wasn’t simple, even the most advanced global markets were still experimenting with it. But they believed Pakistani consumers were ready for better digital experiences, ones that offered ease, accuracy, and confidence.
When they launched their early prototype, the response was encouraging. People connected immediately with the idea of trying on clothes virtually, no guesswork, no frustration. For many, FitCheck didn’t just solve a sizing issue, it made online shopping feel human and intuitive.
FitCheck soon evolved into more than just a technical solution. It became a bridge for non-tech-savvy individuals to navigate the world of e-commerce more comfortably. The platform allows users to visualize how clothes would look on them, all without stepping into a fitting room.
The team also began expanding into the B2B space, offering their solution to retail outlets looking to enhance the customer experience. Through smart collaborations with platforms like DigiKhata and BizB, FitCheck integrated into existing retail ecosystems and accelerated its growth.
Yet behind the screens and smart algorithms, the real story was about people, about building a team that shared the founders’ mindset and understood the long-term vision. Saad and Farhan learned that scaling technology is one thing, but scaling culture, vision, and trust is another. That realization led them to join NIC Faisalabad, a place where startups aren’t just incubated, but equipped for real growth.
At NICF, they found the support, structure, and mentorship they needed to think beyond borders. Today, FitCheck has its sights set on the MENA region, a space ripe for fashion-tech innovation and eager for digital transformation.
FitCheck’s story is still unfolding, but its roots are grounded in problem-solving, grit, and a deep belief in what’s possible when innovation meets insight.
